WAVE

Course Description

WAVE training courses are three days long, with two days of basic training followed by one day for advanced training and special topics.  The content of the courses are listed below.

Requirements

No prior WAVE knowledge is required if the attendee is enrolled for all three days of the training.  General knowledge about internal combustion engines is recommended.

Course Content

Basic WAVE training (two days):

Introduction to concepts in engine performance simulation.
Standard and new features in WAVE.
Pre- and post-processing using the new WaveBuild.
Step-by-step hands-on model-building to learn correct model-building practices and model calibration.

Advanced WAVE training (0.5 day):

Use of advanced Acoustics Module: WNOISE
Using the WAVE Application Program Interface (API) for linking WAVE with MATLAB/Simulink, EASY5, MatrixX/Systembuild, VECTIS, and other programs.

Special Topics (0.5 day):

Time allotted to cater for individual attendee modeling needs and discussion of more advanced topics as determined by all attendees.
Suggested special topics may include introductory concepts into modeling superchargers, turbochargers, wastegating, EGR, warm-up studies, combustion and emissions, noise control, and control systems.  Both Gasoline and Diesel engines can be covered.
